The start.

Want Some Media (WSM) was founded in 2012 by Des Paul to bring together his production experience from a career spent in broadcast media and the music industry, working for brands such as Global, Viacom and Ministry of Sound. Over the years the business has grown, and Des has brought together a diverse team of talent at every level of production to make it all happen.

THE PREMISE.

The premise of WSM is simple; to create content that works.

We work with brands, corporate clients, agencies and media owners to produce outstanding video and podcast content. What makes us stand out from the crowd, is that we put the audience first with every job. Our unrivalled experience of reaching literally millions of people from our work in radio and television has taught us how audiences engage with and consume content. We use this insight in every job.

THE WORK.

Our video work includes branded content, social media videos, animation, explainers, talking heads and commercials. Our podcast content is a mixture of factual entertainment series and internal comms podcasts. This is an area of significant growth as more audiences are discovering the platform. Our radio heritage means our podcast production is difficult to rival.

THE TEAM.

The core team have worked together for years even prior to WSM and so we have a naturally smooth working dynamic. Everybody knows each other well and we all know what needs to be done to create content that works.

The team is headed up by Des Paul, a former Capital FM presenter, who also headed up the music programming team at MTV Networks, before overseeing media at Ministry of Sound.

Other key WSM talent includes Dave Vitty, best known as ‘Comedy Dave’ from BBC Radio 1, Virgin Radio legend Ben Jones and former BBC executive producer, Will Kinder. Business and legal affairs are managed by Catherine Parry-Jones.

THE PROCESS.

Our jobs vary in scale, however we apply the same standards to each one to make sure we can get the best out of the budget and brief. We keep our processes simple, so there are no surprises for the client.
